CB048754Thank you so much for offering me a cup of tea. I don’t even know your name, but your kindness did not go unnoticed. And even though I didn’t take you up on your warm beverage, I want you to know you made sitting in a broken-down van not such a sad thing after all.

Thanks for the address card and the concern too. Some people might have shewed me away from their little business establishment. And I’m sure someone else might have complained about my broken down vehicle sitting in their little parking lot, but not you.

You’re the second nice stranger I’ve met within one week. The other one printed off my resume after I walked out of my house for an interview and left it sitting next to my purse. (It was sleeting, and I was so worried about the weather, I forgot to make sure I had everything!)  This other stranger was in the office next door to where my interview was, and while I was calling out an SOS to my husband for help, she was figuring out that I could probably print what I needed from her computer.

Some people say that folks aren’t so nice any more, that everyone’s after something, and no one’s just trying to help you, but I don’t think that’s true. Some times strangers turn out to be real angels…with warm tea and a computer.

I hope I can be a nice stranger to someone soon. I’ll be on the lookout for someone who’s a little broken and messed up, and I’ll see what I can do.

Thank you again!

Peace!

Mary Beth

PS…I hope the tow truck got my van out of your parking lot!
