Though the fig tree
does not bud
and there are
no
grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop
fails
and the fields produce
no food,
though there are
no sheep
in the pen
and no cattle
in the stalls,
yet I will
REJOICE
in the Lord,
I will
BE JOYFUL
in God
My Savior
Habakkuk 3:17-18
It’s not easy to praise God when life is hard and not going your way. How might you write these verses to reflect your own life?
Here’s my attempt:
Though the words
do not
get written
and there are
no
insights
Though the fight offers
no promise
And the understanding
never comes
Though there is
no laughter and
though my dream may
vanish,
and life may bring
heartache
yet
I will
REJOICE
in the Lord
I will
BE JOYFUL
in God
my Savior.
We can praise God even in the storm. Why? Because he loves us furiously and there is nothing, nothing at all that can ever separate us from that love. So as we face the hardships of today, may our hope sink deep and pull out the promise of tomorrow.
Preach it, Sista! Just this morning, I was reworking the old song, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say: Rejoice!” Tracking right with you…
Seems like there are little tests to this rejoicing thing ALL the time!
